Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of MIDI-HA Bridge ("the App"), a macOS menu bar application that forwards MIDI signals to a local Home Assistant instance. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. License
The App is free to use for a single installation — one copy running on
a given local network or site — for both personal and commercial use. Running
two or more installations on the same local network or site requires a
paid license, one per additional installation. Your use is also subject
to the End User License Agreement (EULA) distributed with the App (the
LICENSE file), which controls in the event of any conflict.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source of the App, except where permitted by law.
- Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the App except as expressly allowed by the EULA.
- Remove, disable, or circumvent any licensing or activation mechanism.
- Use the App to violate any applicable law or any third party's rights.
3. Third-Party Services & Systems
The App interacts with services and systems you configure, including your Home Assistant instance, Google's Gmail API (optional email alerts), your own SMTP server (optional), and LemonSqueezy (paid license validation). Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms. You are responsible for the configuration and security of your own Home Assistant instance and credentials.
4. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will correctly trigger any automation in all circumstances. You are responsible for testing the App in your environment before relying on it.
6. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROPERTY, OR PROFITS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE APP, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
7. Intellectual Property & Trademarks
The name "MIDI-HA Bridge" and its associated logos and icons are the property of the developer and are not licensed for use by others. The App is an independent, unofficial tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Faithlife, LLC (Proclaim®, Logos®) or the Open Home Foundation (Home Assistant), whose marks remain the property of their respective owners.
8. Termination
These Terms apply while you use the App. The license terminates automatically if you breach them or the EULA. Upon termination you must stop using and remove the App.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in New Jersey for any dispute arising out of these Terms or the App.
